Generalized anxiety disorder is a mental disorder that is not caused by specific instances or a particular catalyst. This form of anxiety can be brought on simply by an exaggeration of a thought or situation. Below are some characteristics of this anxiety.
1. Restlessness – An inability to sit still or control the flow of thoughts can often be associated with this form of anxiety. This can bring about the inability to sleep, which can further increase the anxiety.
2. Difficulty breathing – During the panic attacks associated with this anxiety, it is common to hyperventilate or breathe heavily and fast. Usually once this happens; it is very difficult to be calmed.
3. Muscle spasms – Twitching and muscle spasms, awesome combined with restlessness, can be a sign of this anxiety. Being anxious while trying to sit still can cause the anxiety to calm out in the form of involuntary muscle reactions.
