ADHD is a common diagnosis found in children that struggle to learn and are constantly restless. Here are some signs that ADHD may be present.
1.Hyperactivity – If your child is unable to slow down for extended periods of time and is constantly in motion, your child could possibly be suffering from ADHD. You may notice that even while sitting, your child may be constantly moving his or her legs or tapping his or her fingers.
2. Inability to stay focused – This is generally the most noticeable symptom of ADHD as it tends to negatively affect academic progress. This is easily noticeable through declining grades, insufficient focus, and teacher concerns that may be brought to your attention.
3. Impulsivity – Your child may speak with reckless abandon, unconcerned with the consequences. Though unprovoked, your child may shout or throw a tantrum, then retreat to a calm state immediately following the incident. This symptom can often be misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder, which is why it is important to consult a psychiatrist or counselor if there is concern.
