Research and surveys have long shown that job pressures and work related fears are the leading cause of stress in Americans. According to a recent NIOSH report more than 40% of Americans say that their job is very or extremely stressful. American adults' stress has been increasing in recent decades claims the American Institute of Stress.
Stress is the catalyst for a wide range of health problems including cardiovascular disease, obesity, addictions, sleep deprivation and more. Social repercussions of stress can be seen in America's growing divorce rate and reports of violent acts. Although, this is not new information to any of us we still must ask why educated, information- armed Americans still succumb to the pressures of the workplace.
In a challenging economy, many Americans feel compelled to pore over their work. If you are one of the Americans at risk take action before you are overcome by job related stress. Seek help today. Speak to a counselor, speak to a mentor, or go to your boss- your health depends on it.

Stress is something I avoid. I'm happy and content with my life even though my girlfriend is the only one working. Both of us know it will work its way out. The important thing right now is that this is a time when families should come together to help one another. Cause that's what famlies do. And maybe someday the roles will be reversed and you are the one giving another family member support. I feel like these are some of the values people have forgotten. These are times when famlies need to come together. whether its food, money, or shelter, this is a time when we need to stick together
