Confidence is an important component of beating an addiction. You have to know you can do it. But convincing yourself you can do it can be a different concept entirely from confidence. There are plenty of addicts out there that believe they can conquer addiction simply by convincing themselves they can stop whenever they want. This thought process has led to many addicts continuing to struggle with drugs.
In order to truly beat a drug, you have to convince yourself that you need help, not convince yourself that you can do it alone. Confidence is key to beating an addiction, but doing it by yourself is no way to go about it. Counseling can give you the confidence, direction, and support you need to succeed. Convince yourself you can do it with help, not that you can do it alone.
