The Problem with Prescriptions

  • -

Prescription drugs have become a problem in the United States. The ease of distribution, combined with their addictive qualities and dangerous elements, have made prescription drugs a volatile, and sometimes fatal addiction.

Opiates have posed a problem for years because of their highly addictive qualities and dangerous side effects. Many deaths have been related to opiates being combined with other substances to create a fatal concoction. The problem being further enhanced by them constantly being prescribed to patients who are experiencing mild pain, and are easily diverted to the "black market".

Prescription drugs are a dangerous addiction and should be monitored more effectively. Prescription drugs should only be taken if prescribed by a doctor, and in the case of opiates, should be taken only under strict regulations.
