These effects seem to be more prominent in ambulatory than in non-ambulatory patients. Lying down may alleviate these reactions. There can be more severe reactions. Abuse and Dependence

Along with its benefits, this medication can cause abnormal drug-seeking behavior. This risk may be increased if you have a history of alcohol or drug abuse. Vicodin becomes addictive because it is a mind-altering substance, relaxing both the mind and body. It causes the brain to stop producing chemicals like endorphins, which cause the body to feel that it is unable to function without the drug. However, to avoid Vicodin abuse, take it exactly as prescribed by a physician.

Vicodin addiction affects the lives of many Americans each year; however, with proper treatment plan the addiction can be overcome.
